# STS Cars Website: Modules, Features, and Functionality Inventory

**Reference website:** <https://www.stscars.co.uk/>
**Audit date:** 12 October 2026
**Purpose:** Requirements baseline for building a more capable taxi, chauffeur, airport-transfer, and group-transport platform without losing the reference site's existing functionality.
**New platform brand:** MCR AeroLink. STS Cars is the functional reference only; no STS branding, copy or assets are reused (see `doc/Development.md` section 6.6).

## 1. Audit scope and confidence

This inventory was compiled from:

- Interactive inspection of the public website and its forms.
- Main and footer navigation.
- Authentication, registration, booking lookup, FAQ, service, and content pages.
- `robots.txt` and the site's XML sitemap.
- Client-side HTML and JavaScript visible to a normal visitor.
- Published descriptions of booking, payment, communication, and account behavior.

Labels used below:

- **Observed** — directly visible or testable without making a real booking or payment.
- **Published** — explicitly described by the website, FAQ, or policy content.
- **Inferred** — a backend capability required to support an observed or published feature, but not directly accessible.
- **Restricted** — requires a valid customer/corporate account, real booking, payment, or staff access.

The public website cannot reveal every internal implementation detail. Payment completion, authenticated dashboards, dispatch tools, driver tools, and administration are therefore documented as restricted or inferred rather than claimed as directly observed.

## 22. Complete public route inventory

Routes differ between the current navigation and the older sitemap; both forms should be captured in redirects during migration.

### 22.1 Core and account routes

- `/`
- `/index.php`
- `/about-us`
- `/drivers-fleet`

- `/faq` (sitemap)
- `/login`
- `/authentication`
- `/reset-password.php`
- `/passenger-registration.php`

### 22.2 Service routes

Current navigation uses `/services/...` for several service pages, while the sitemap lists older root-level forms:

- `/services/event-group-transfers` and `/event-group-transfers`
- `/services/pay-via-card` and `/pay-via-card`

### 22.3 Transfer and information routes

---

## 23. Known inconsistencies and defects not to copy

- Duplicate `Recent Reviews` module on the homepage.
- Sitemap contains stale or inconsistent URLs (`faq` versus `faqs`, `contact`/`contact.php` versus `contact-us`, root-level versus `/services/` routes).
- `contact.php` produced a 404 during inspection while still appearing in the sitemap.
- Sitemap dates and content maintenance are inconsistent.
- Cancellation copy appears contradictory:
  - Homepage promotes free cancellation up to 48 hours.
  - FAQ/policy text mentions a 20% administration fee and no refunds.
- Booking lead-time wording varies between 12 and 24 hours.
- Payment method descriptions differ by page.
- Some technical and accessibility behavior is dated.
- Machine translation is not sufficient for legal, payment, or booking-critical content.
- Client-side integration credentials/configuration must be reviewed and restricted; secret credentials must never be exposed.

These should become explicit configuration and content-governance decisions in the new platform.

## 24. Acceptance checklist for feature parity

- [ ] Address autocomplete, geocoding, routing, and a configurable fixed-price engine.
- [ ] Vehicle comparison/selection with passenger and luggage limits.
- [ ] Guest checkout and registered-customer booking.
- [ ] Secure online card payment with 3-D Secure, plus cash and corporate billing options.

This checklist preserves the reference site's functional scope while defining the operational and administrative capabilities needed to deliver it reliably in a modern system.
